Terms & Conditions

Franklins is dedicated to providing the highest levels of customer satisfaction. All the products we offer are from brands that are well-proven for their reliability. None of our terms affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Products Details – Franklins reserve the right to amend, without notice: prices, description and/or details of all products and offers displayed in our website. All prices and offers shown on this site are subject to stock availability.

Postage Charge – All sewing machines/overlocker/embellishers will be posted out free to mainland UK addresses, delivery will have to be signed for. Orders over £45.00 are shipped to mainland UK addresses free of charge. Orders below £45.00 will carry a shipping charge of £5.00.

Fabric Returns Policy – If the goods are faulty, or not what was ordered, we will reimburse your postage. If the reason for return is otherwise, you’ll be responsible for the cost of postage. Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have a right to cancel your order within 14 days of ordering or receiving your goods. You must give us notice of your intent to cancel by contacting us at info@franklinsgroup.com we will require the following information – Your name, Telephone number & Order number. If the goods have already been dispatched prior to us receiving your instruction to cancel, you have a legal obligation to retain possession and take reasonable care of them. If the goods aren’t faulty, you’ll be responsible for the return postage costs. Once we receive the return, a refund will be issued.

Cancellation & Returns – Under the United Kingdom’s Distance Selling Regulations, if you’ve received goods and have simply changed your mind about purchasing them, you may return the goods to us for full credit, subject to the following conditions: 1. The item(s) is in stock condition i.e. as it was when it was delivered to you. 2. Customer must inform us of your desire to cancel within 7 working days of receipt of the product(s). 3. Customer pays the return delivery charges. 4. Goods are returned as soon as possible in order that your credit can be refunded and will be credited to customers within 30 days.

Back Orders – In the rare event of an item being out of stock, we will contact you by telephone and / or email to explain when delivery is to be expected. It will be despatched as soon as possible.

Remittance Terms – All goods must be paid for in full before despatch.

Credit Card Security – We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet.

Guarantees – All products are fully covered by the manufacturer’s guarantee, details of which are included with each item. At the time of placing the order, we ask each customer to retain your receipt and the packaging. If it becomes necessary for the machine to be returned for repair, we will arrange the collection, repair and delivery back. We aim to carry out the repairs and deliver back within 14 working days.

Your Order Cancellation Rights

You are entitled to cancel Your Order within 14 days without giving any reason for doing so.

The deadline for cancelling an Order is 14 days from the date on which You received the Goods or on which a third party you have appointed, who is not the carrier, takes possession of the product delivered.

In order to exercise Your right of cancellation, You must inform Us of your decision by means of a clear statement. You can inform us of your decision by:

We will reimburse You no later than 14 days from the day on which We receive the returned Goods. We will use the same means of payment as You used for the Order, and You will not incur any fees for such reimbursement.

Conditions for Returns

In order for the Goods to be eligible for a return, please make sure that:

  • The Goods were purchased in the last 14 days
  • The Goods are in the original packaging

The following Goods cannot be returned:

  •  The supply of Goods made to Your specifications or clearly personalized.
  •  The supply of Goods which according to their nature are not suitable to be returned, deteriorate rapidly or where the date of expiry is over.
  •  The supply of Goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and were unsealed after delivery.
  •  The supply of Goods which are, after delivery, according to their nature, inseparably mixed with other items.

We reserve the right to refuse returns of any merchandise that does not meet the above return conditions in our sole discretion.

Returning Goods You are responsible for the cost and risk of returning the Goods to Us. You should send the Goods at the following address:

We cannot be held responsible for Goods damaged or lost in return shipment. Therefore, We recommend an insured and trackable mail service. We are unable to issue a refund without actual receipt of the Goods or proof of received return delivery.

We will investigate and respond to any complaints about our products or services.

If you’ve taken out finance to fund your purchase and your complaint is about your finance, such as your monthly repayments, interest or charges, you should contact your lender directly to complain to them.

If Black Horse FlexPay or Newpay are responsible for the product or service that you have complained about, then we will forward your complaint to them to investigate and respond. In accordance with FCA rules on complaint forwarding, we will write to you to confirm who will be dealing with your complaint and how you can contact them.

Privacy Policy – We do not hold any information about our customers other than the basic details supplied when placing an order. These details simply enable us to process your order and are never passed on to third parties other than for payment card authorisation.

WEEE Regulations:

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK

  • Much of the UK ‘s WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.
  • Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill

Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.

For example, if a customer bought a new sewing machine from us we would accept their old sewing machine and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.

Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below:

Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.email: info@franklinsgroup.com
